Flower Collages

Collages are our favorite type of crafts, because they are open ended and artistic.  There is no right or wrong way to make a collage. These flower collages were the perfect project for my older boys.

I used my Cricut Expression to make flowers out of cardstock scraps the other day, and the boys and I jazzed them up with some fun embellishments.  While we made our flower collages we talked about how God created the flowers.  JZ (4) gave me a long lecture about the different kind of flowers and how God created each one.  And, "He created playdough."  LOL, I love listening to him talk.  The things his mind comes up with make me smile.

As always, JZ used a ton of glue.  It cracks me up to watch him.  He is so intense.  A tip if you have a glue lover like mine:  I leave crafts on wax paper to dry, so they don't stick to the table or other paper.  J-Bug (2) is the polar opposite of JZ when it comes to collages.  He doesn't understand that glue is an important part of the process.  He just dumps everything on top of his flowers and shouts, "Ta da!" or "I did it!"

Please note that J-Bug is past the stage of mouthing everything.  Choose collage supplies carefully with toddlers.
