This week JZ had a vowel practice booklet in one of his drawers. Since JM likes to do whatever his big brother is doing I put a pre-writing booklet on one of his trays. The printout is from Confessions of a Homeschooler. I laminated
the sheets before cutting, so he could trace using a dry erase marker

for storage.

For a long time playdough was something JM played with daily. Lately it hasn't been something he reaches for. I thought it would be fun to mix it up a bit. I put Play-Doh
, toothpicks
and glass gems
on one of his trays, so he could poke and smoosh things into the dough.

We made a few robots. (They look a bit more like aliens than robots.)
JZ joined in the fun after completing the work in his drawers.
JM loved changing clothes on this Melissa and Doug Magnetic Pretend Play - Jack
. For the first time since we got the set, he wanted to follow the pictures on the back and dress the boy in each pictured outfit. I enjoyed watching the wheels in his head turn as he found the correct pieces to put together.

He thought it was hilarious to put the trucks in the wrong spaces and say, "I did it!" Each time he giggled uncontrollably.
I've put this tray out many times before, and it's always a favorite.
I cut a small opening in the lid of a plastic container, and JM put craft sticks
in the opening one at a time. This is a simple exercise for developing fine motor skills.
