I posted earlier in the week about taking the Playdough Pledge. I had a hard time coming up with something new we have never done with playdough. I decided to combine two of our favorites: playdough and paint. We have painted playdough before, but this is the first time we painted with playdough. The difference? We didn't paint on it, we used the dough as "brushes". It was, um, interesting...
I made a few balls of playdough and a few "snakes" for rolling.
The boys dipped the balls into the painted, and...
Smooshed them!
If nothing else, it was great for fine motor practice. ;)
Of course it got messier and messier as we continued, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Eventually they started really smooshing all the playdough into the table then smearing paint over it.
For fun I included craft sand
in the invitation. I knew they would enjoy pouring some over their creations.

Oooo I've never painted with play dough. I think we'll have to give this a try. So glad you shared this at the Weekly Kids Co-op. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. The paper over the whole table is fantastic. Pieces of paper all over the place are so distracting! I think we'll try this next week.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Wow what a mess!
