Fall Recipes for Play - Playdough Recipes
It is finally starting to feel like fall around here. Despite the lack of fall weather, we have been having the best time exploring the colors, scents and themes of the season. We've had many favorite fall play recipes this season, and several of those are playdough recipes.
We used our favorite playdough recipe base to make these colorful and fall scented playdoughs: orange pumpkin pie, candy apple green, clove red, nutmeg yellow and cinnamon brown.
The base recipe for this apple pie dough only calls for three common household ingredients. For some fall fun we made it apple scented and colored, and my boys engaged in pretend bakery play for hours.
Are your kids as drawn to candy corn as mine are? I knew they would get a kick out of this simple candy corn playdough. We made large and small candy corns our of our dough and then slowly mixed it up for a beautiful, marbled dough in candy corn colors.
With Halloween just around the corner I teamed up with some amazing bloggers for a candy series, and together we shared 29 ideas for play and learning with candy. One of the ways we used candy was to make Hershey Kiss Chocolate Playdough. This playdough is made from real Hershey Kisses and smells divine!
